On Ainomachi Street north of Oike Street is a little café in a building called ポポラーレ御池POPOLARE Oike. I read about it in a book café book at another café and liked the sound of it, so I decided to check it out one day after work in October.
I found it pretty easily (a surprise, because I’m such a houkou-onchi).
I wanted to sit at the counter seating in front of the window facing the street…next time…

the left side of my counter seat table: the cups and saucers are the café’s original.
After looking through the menu and asking for suggestions from the staff, I decided on アイスコーヒーaisu koohii (iced coffee), ￥450 (￥100 off), because I was pretty hot from my walk there from work; for my food order, I got フレンチトーストFurenchi toosuto (French toast), ￥600.
The coffee was stronger than what I usually order but refreshing and good nonetheless. The French toast was delicious; next time, I’ll make it a point to order it without ice cream with which I failed to notice that it came.
The smell of their famous stewing curry pervaded every corner of that little room; I smelled strongly of the onions used in the curry for a long time after I left the place.

Besides smelling like onions when I left, I really liked Sansaka which was quite cozy and quiet; I hope to go back again sometime, maybe I’ll try the curry then.
